Alsisar Haveli, Jaipur
Overview :
More than five centuries ago, the grandson of Maharaja Udaikaran of Amer, Rao Shekhaji, founded the sub-clan popularly known as Shekhawat. Alsisar Haveli is owned by this Branch of the Kachhawa clan of Rajputs. The descendants of the family have restructured and refurbished their old mansion (Haveli) into a modern day Heritage Hotel to give the guests a feel of the Raj days. Alsisar Haveli lies tucked away in the heart of the pink city, Jaipur. It brings back to life the grandeur of the old days and is a memorable regal Rajasthani experience for the guests. Built in 1892, the Haveli incorporates the finesse of traditional Rajput architecture and is a sight to behold. The large elevated platform that dominates the central area of the ground floor and once used for get-togethers by the gents of the house is now open to guests who can witness puppet shows and folk dances while enjoying their snacks or drinks. The spacious lobby, which opens into the chowk (inner courtyard), was a century ago used by the ladies of the house and is now open to guests for a tête-à-tête
Accommodation :
The rooms are very much like the ones that were used by the Thakurs of Alsisar. Antique furniture and mediaeval Rajasthani style-fabrics charmingly enhance the Rajasthani experience. An assortment of 47 air-conditioned rooms are offered to the guests for a luxurious stay with individual temperature controls and attached tub-baths with running hot and cold water round the clock. Jaipur also boasts some huge gardens such as the Ram Niwas Garden, Central Museum (or Albert Hall), Zoological Garden, Sisodia Rani Palace and Garden, Vidyadhar Garden and the Central Park etc. These gardens are a delightful place to enjoy with your loved ones. All those who visit Jaipur do not forget to carry some typical Rajasthani items with them. From furniture to clothes, everything is special in this Pink City.
