Bangalore
Introduction :
The Garden city of India, Bangalore is the capital city of southern Indian state Karnataka. Situated at about 1000 meters above sea level, it is known for its salubrious climate where temperatures remain moderate throughout the year. Bangalore is the fastest growing metropolis of India, rather we can say emerging silicone valley of South East Asia. The city of Bangalore has many imposing structures full of historic and modern architecture. The majestic Vidhana Soudha, a magnificent post-independence structure housing the State legislature and Secretariat, stands in the center of the city. It is sheer delight to see the illuminated Soudha during nights on Sundays and Holidays.
History :
Bangalore has now been renamed Bengalooru, a Kannada term. Bengalooru word comes from "bende kaalu ooru," which means "the town of boiled beans." It is believed many years ago King Ballala from the Hoysala Dynasty lost his way in the jungle when he went for hunting. After some time, he met a poor, old woman who offered him some boiled beans to eat. The king, in a note of thank to her, named the place "bende kaalu ooru." However, the government of Karnataka has decided to change the existing name to Bengalooru.

There are a number of tourist attractions to visit in and around the city of Bangalore. The Vidhan Soudha makes the major attraction in Bangalore. The building is a massive neo-Dravidian architecture presently functioning as the state legislative assembly. Lal Bagh is a must see while visiting Bangalore. The name Lal Bagh has been given to it for the bloomed red roses that remain blooming throughout the year in this garden. Situated in the heart of the city, the Cubbon Park is an interesting tourist spot, which one should not miss out. Lord Cubbon laid the park in the year 1864. It is spread over an area of about 300 acres and the layout is absolutely exquisite.
