Shimla
Introduction to Shimla:
Shimla, also known as Simla, is a breathtaking hill station and a tourist par excellence in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is the capital of Himachal Pradesh, India. This beautiful hill town is located at an altitude of 2213 metre. Superbly located in the lap of nature, and enclosed by deodar and pine jungles. Fancifully described, as Queen of Hill Stations, Shimla attracts tourists from all around the world. The beauty of Shimla is exceptional. Lush green surroundings; sky clothed with a peaceful, dulcet and melodious breeze; spectacular view of sunset; clouds kissing its hills; all these create a paradise like ambience in Shimla. The Mall is one of the major attractions of Shimla. It is the main shopping area of Shimla. It also houses aGaiety Theatre (the reproduction of British Theatre). This is theatre is the centre of cultural activities. Lakkar Bazaar, here, is popular for its wood crafts and souvenirs.

Perhaps the most popular a large open area in the heart of town which offers a spectacular view of mountain ranges.
Other Attractions :
Some other worth visiting attractions of Shimla are Jakhu Temple - dedicated to Lord Hanuman, Chadwick Fall - surrounded by forests, and Summer Hill - a picture perfect spot of Shimla which offers spectacular view of surroundings.
How to reach Shimla :
By Air: To arrive in Shimla the nearest airport is Jubbarhatti Airport, 23 km away from Shimla. One can also take flight for Chandigarh, or Delhi. From Delhi and Chandigarh, Shimla is easily accessible. By Rail: To arrive in Shimla by rail, the closest railway station is Kalka. Though, Shimla is on the narrow gauge railway line, one have to take toy train from Kalka to Shimla. The Toys train takes you to Shimla through the beautiful valley and landscapes. The toy trains runs at a very slow pace and makes you view to spectacular view of surroundings and offers you a pleasant journey. By Road: Shimla is well-connected by road from all the cities of Himachal Pradesh and neighboring states. Regular bus services are available to Shimla from Delhi and Chandigarh.
