Pushkar Palace, Pushkar
Overview :
Pushkar is a round the year destination for the travelers. A vibrant Kasba with 500 temples and 52 bathing ghats around the holy lake it boosts of the only temple in the universe dedicated to 'Lord Brahma' the God of creation. The heritage Jagat Singh Palace Hotel conveniently located at Pushkar, extends you a royal welcome and offers an opportunity to explore the exquisite artistic galore of Rajasthan. Pushkar lake is surrounded by many palaces which were built by former rulers of different states of India and one of the Palace among those is 'Kishangarh Kunj' built by Maharaja of Jaisalmer about 400 years ago and later on presented to Maharaja of Kishangarh,. This property is running as a hotel in the name of " Hotel Pushkar Palace" under the ownership of Kr. Jagat Singh Rathore of Khanpur. The Hotel is classified by the Govt. of India, Deptt. of Tourism as a " Heritage Hotel" and has the finest accommodation in town, which offers memorable stay to the guests by providing royal comforts in traditional Rajasthani style.
Location :
Hotel Pushkar Palace is the finest Lake Palace Hotel of the country, which is situated on the bank of the lake and center of the town from where you, can see the lake, bunch of palaces, hills, sand dunes, hundreds of temples, the sunset and you can witness in the morning and evening the ringing bells, which comes from prayers done in the temples. It creates a great magic to the person who comes to Pushkar. A person, who decides to witness this in Pushkar for a day, keeps on coming back through out his life. The whole day a guest can witness what all is going on the Ghats, while sitting in the hotel or relaxing in the room. Its a total pollution free and eco-friendly town.
Accommodation :
Hotel Pushkar Palace has well appointed 48 Super Deluxe Rooms and 5 Suites with all facilities in the rooms. Hotel has two floors; most of the rooms including all suites are overlooking the lake and has garden view. Spacious Air Conditioned rooms for single, double, triple and family accommodation are available with satellite television, telephone and minibar. Quality mattresses and linen are being used to make the stay more comfortable. Each room has different period furniture, frescoes, family portraits and decoration of old paintings, which create a great ambience.
Facilities :
Although Hotel Pushkar Palace has no conference hall in the hotel premises, but this facility can be availed at it's branch hotel which is hardly 500 yards away. Jagat Singh Palace Hotel has got fully Air-conditioned Conference Hall with all the facilities and a capacity of 100 to 150 persons. Size of the hall is about 2000 Sq.ft. where seating plan can be arranged as per the requirement of the conference. Beautiful frescoes are painted in the "Durbar Hall".
Camping :
The Hotel is running a Camp called Royal Desert Camp for the past 20 years at Ganahera Motisar Road, Pushkar. This camp has 234 Swiss Cottages with bath, running hot and cold water round the clock. It has a Five star Deluxe accommodation with two dinning halls of 600 covers, Coffee shop and a Soft Bar. It runs during Pushkar festival for 7 days and on request we are camping for various companies. We serve Continental, Chinese and Indian food at camp and the camp is located 1.5 kms from the Mela ground and 15 minutes drive by camel cart.
Pushkar - The Pushkar Fair City :
The moment a traveller gets out of the hotel can visit around 500 temples, hundreds of old palaces & Havelies owned by the erstwhile Rulers, Jagirdars, Tajimdars & Istramirdars of this country. These temples and Havelies are built in Rajasthani Architecture, which is totally geometrical. Their age id from 100 to 2500 years old, many of them are monuments which is worth visting. In half an hour walk, one can visit the Goddess 'Savitri Temple, Nag Pahar (Snake Mountain), where you can find hundreds of caves & temples, wild life and jungle birds to see.Gaumukh, Punchkund, Pandawa's caves, Agust Muni's cave are also in the Snake Mountain. Places like Budha Pushkar (Old Pushkar), Madhya Pushkar, Baijnath etc. are only half an hour drive by car. We take you to the village Devnagar, where you can have breakfast, lunch & dinner with traditional Rajasthani families and make them life time friends.Pushkar is a great place to get your cloths stitched. There are about 2000 tailors stitching cloths. It is very famous for eobblers, where hundreds of houses & shops are making shoes and selling them. Pushkar is famous for its painters, and you can see the painters painting miniatures in the town. You can attend "Yoga and Meditation" Classes as there are many institutions at Pushkar. The great Indian Bustered 'Soklia' a protected Indian Century can visit by jeep. Museum & Soni Temple are at Ajmer, which is half an hour drive.
Pushkar Camel Fair 2009 (25 Oct - 02 Nov) :
According to the Hindu calendar Pushkar Fair commences from Nawami (Ninth Moon) to Purnima (Full Moon) in the month of Kartika, which can be in October or November depends on the calendar, which goes with the moon. Here one of the biggest Cattle Fair is held for trading purposes and the best cattles in all categories are awarded. Countless people in their colourful attire gather to take a dip in the Holy Lake and Pray to the Deities. The whole town comes alive with vibrant folk music and dances, magic shows, horse and camel races and various other traditional entertainment competitions.
