Day 01 : New Delhi
Welcome to Incredible India with Ashok India Travels for your Rajasthan and Taj Mahal Tour. Our representative will receive you at the airport, will brief you about the tour and handover the travel documents. Later take a tour of Old Delhi built by Emperor Shahjahan who also built the famous Taj Mahal, Here visit the Jama Masjid which is the biggest Mosque of its kind in India. Later visit Humayuns tomb the first Mughal construction in India from 1565 AD. After that visit the new garden city built in 1911 by the British, Here visit India Gate (War Memorial Arch) built in the earlier half of the 20th century, also drive pass through Rashtrapati Bhawan (President House), Parliament House & Connaught Palace shopping centre. Later visit Lakshmi Narayan Temple (Birla Temple) - a modern Hindu temple and Sikh Temple. Overnight at hotel in New Delhi.
Day 02 : New Delhi - Agra (240 Kms / 4 Hrs)
Today move to Agra, Here visit the Agra Fort built by Akbar where Shahjahans own son Aurangzeb imprisoned Shahjahan. After lunch, The 7th Wonder of the World TAJ MAHAL is awaiting your arrival today. A must see with the sunlight as the Taj Mahal is bathed in the golden rays of the sunset. Built by Shah Jahan, the Taj is a white marble memorial that has the tomb of his beautiful wife Mumtaj Mahal. This monument took 22 years to be completed and was designed, and planned by Persian architect Ustad Isa. Overnight at hotel in Agra
Day 03 : Agra - Lucknow (330 Kms / 5 Hrs)
After breakfast leave to Lucknow, A traditionally cultural city with peculiar architecture and a blend of civilizations, Lucknow offers popular sightseeing of a number of historic monuments. Here visit contemplate the long history of Rumi Darwaza, then appreciate the history behind Bara Imambara, then deepen your understanding at La Martiniere College, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chandrika Devi Mandir. Overnight at hotel in Lucknow
Day 04 : Lucknow - Shravasti (155 Kms / 4 Hrs)
Today, early in the morning, we will drive to Sravasti (approximately 5 hrs driving time). Check-in at the hotel. Later in the afternoon, we will visit Sravasti where Lord Buddha passed the greater part of his monastic life and preached after the enlightenment. Also, we will visit the Ananda Bodhi tree where Lord Buddha meditated for a night then visit Jetavan where Lord Buddha performed some miracle. An overnight stay at the hotel in Sravasti.
Day 05 : Shravasti - Lumbini (200 Kms / 5 Hrs)
In the morning, we will drive to Lumbini (approximately 5 hrs driving time). Check-in at hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure followed by a night stay in the hotel in Lumbini.
Day 06 : Lumbini
After breakfast in the morning, we will visit the birth place of Lord Buddha %u2013 Lumbini. Also, we will visit Lumbini Park where the Ashok Pillar carries the inscription %u2013 where the Buddha was born. Then, we will visit Mayadevi temple devoted to the mother of Lord Buddha which houses a stone picture of giving birth to Lord Buddha. Later, we will visit China temple which is beautiful pagoda style temple with many prayer and meditation cells. An overnight stay at the hotel in Lumbini.
Day 07 : Lumbini - Kushinagar (160 Kms / 4 Hrs)
In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Kushinagar (approximately 4 hrs driving time). Check-in at the hotel in Kushinagar. In the afternoon leave by car for sight-seeing of Kushinagar, one of the major Buddhist pilgrimage destinations where Lord Buddha attained Parinirvana or final Nirvana. Also, visit ancient stupas and modern temples, commemorating the Buddha%u2019s death and cremation. Visit the spectacular reclining Buddha Statue. Enjoy a night stay at the hotel in Kushinagar.
Day 08 : Kushinagar - Vaishali (170 Kms / 3 Hrs)
After breakfast in the morning, we will drive to Patna. En-route, we will be visiting Vaishali (approximately 7 hrs driving time) where Lord Buddha preached his last sermon. The excavations carried out in Vaishali have brought to light Buddha stupa 1 and 11 (14th century B.C) built in brick with a casket containing part of ashes of Buddha. We will also visit Ashok Pillar, erected by Emperor Ashok to commemorate the spot of the last sermon. On arrival in Patna, check-in at the hotel for a night stay.
Day 09 : Vaishali - Rajgir (145 Kms / 4 Hrs)
After breakfast in the morning, we will drive to Bodhgaya. En-route, we will visit Nalanda (approximately 90 kms) founded in the 5th century B.C. We will also visit an archaeological museum houses the Nalanda University seal, sculptures and other remains found on the site.Later take a 20 kms drive to Rajgir. Further, we will visit Griddhkuta %u201CHill of Vultures%u201D, where Buddha delivered some of his most famous sermons. Thereafter, we will visit Saptparni caves where first Buddha Council was held which is also the source of Rajgir%u2019s hot springs. Then drive to Bodhgaya (approximately 120 kms) and Check-in at the pre-booked guest house for an overnight stay.
Day 10 : Rajgir - Bodhgaya (70 Kms / 2 Hrs)
In the morning after breakfast, we will visit Mahabodhi Temple which includes tall stone lotuses, figures of Buddha sitting in different postures on the walls, his footprints on the stones and a colossal golden Buddha in the sanctum sanctorum. The Bodhi Tree is situated in the premises of the temple, is the one under which Buddha attained illumination. Another option is to sit and meditate under the Bodhi Tree. Later return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 11 : Bodhgaya
After early breakfast in the morning, we will start our journey to varansi.On arriving at Varanasi, meet our representative who will transfer you to your pre-booked hotel. Attend the evening Aarti at Sasumed Ghat on the banks of river Ganges. Enjoy a night stay at the hotel in Varanasi.
Day 12 : Bodhgaya
After early breakfast in the morning, we will start our journey to varansi.On arriving at Varanasi, meet our representative who will transfer you to your pre-booked hotel. Attend the evening Aarti at Sasumed Ghat on the banks of river Ganges. Enjoy a night stay at the hotel in Varanasi.
Day 13 : Bodhgaya - Varanasi (250 Kms / 5 Hrs)
Today, we will leave for an early morning boat ride at Ganges River. As the dawn mists rise on the Holy River Ganges, glide silently on a boat to see the devout come to bathe and pray. Later in the early afternoon, we will drive to Sarnath where the Lord Buddha preached his first discourse, and to see the Stupas, ancient and modern Temples and Ashoka%u2019s Pillar. Lord Buddha came to sarnath after gaining enlightenment under the sacred bodhi tree.
Day 14 : Varanasi
Early in the morning (05:00hrs), you will be taken to the banks of the river Ganges where you board a boat to see the morning ablutions of the Hindus. The boat ride shows you Dasaswamedh Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, Assi Ghat, Dasaswamedh Ghat, Harish Chandra Ghat and Tulsi Ghat. After breakfast, visit the Benares Hindu University which is the largest residential university in India with more than 3000 residential students, after that visit Sarnath, the sacred city for the Buddhist where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon to his first five disciples. Later in the evening enjoy a Boat ride at Ganges to visit the GANGA AARTI (Prayer of River Ganges). Overnight at hotel in Varanasi. Day 18 : Varanasi - New Delhi (By Flight)
Day 15 : Varanasi - New Delhi (Flight)
In the morning after a leisurely breakfast, you are free to move on your own in Varanasi near the Ghats and explore its narrow streets or relax at your hotel. Later leave to New Delhi by Flight, Here you will be transferred to the International Airport to take your Flight back home. You need to be at the airport 3 hours before your International flight departure time. Have a nice flight.
