Dear Ashok India Travels Team,
My friend, Jill Tostevin, & I combined two of your tours earlier this year & had a wonderful time. Your speedy reply to all my emails prior to arrival was more than one would expect. You also altered some of our hotels to those of our choice or advised us where necessary. The eighteen day tour of Rajasthan & Varanasi was a delight & was saw all that we had wanted to & more than we had expected. Our driver, Nur, was not only an amazingly good driver but observant of our every need. The hotels in which we stayed were all comfortable & more than we would expect of three stars. Our only small complaint is that we had to share a bed in many of them although we had requested twin beds. This was not a problem when the beds were King size but less comfortable when they were four foot six.. Some of the hotels change the allocated rooms for twin bedded ones. Nevertheless we had a wonderful time.
After that we spent four days with friends in Mumbai. Then we took the Kerala Backwaters tour, We could not believe how different Kerala was from Rajasthan. Not only the countryside but the people. Everyone was so friendly, constantly asking if we liked Kerala & very, very few hawkers, bliss! Some of the hotels in which we stayed were four star, I would think & the car was of a very high standard. As you know we had problems for the start. Our flight had been altered to an earlier time, one & a half hours earlier. You were as helpful as possible, by ´phone. We had different excuses, the driver was caught in traffic, he was looking for us, he was waiting in a different place. The truth was that the company had not informed him of the alteration. It then turned out that the driver had hardly a word of English. Of course we were in his country but were not able to learn his language for the short time we were there.
I spent a sleepless night worrying how we were going to manage because he had had to find some taxi drivers who could interpret for us. After a number of ´phone calls between you, an Indian friend of Mrs Tostevin & the proprietor of our guest house we were provided with an English speaking driver. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour & could not believe the extent of the tea plantations. The overnight cruise of the backwaters was ok, the boat was comfortable & the staff attentive. but we only actually cruised for four hours altogether. We realize that, after the wonderfully organized tour that your own company provided, there would be a lot to live up to. Anyway, we want to thank you for providing us with a wonderful tour. You made requested alterations & were as helpful as any one could possibly be. Yours was the only company who provided a personal service & at a very affordable price. We a recommending Ashok India Travels to all our friends & hope, when we have saved up, that we might come again. With heartfelt thanks,

Hola!!! Somos Eva y Francesc de Girona. Ya estamos de vuelta a España, y no queríamos dejar pasar más tiempo sin daros las gracias por la organización de nuestro viaje. Todo ha ido perfecto, los hoteles, los transportes, las excursiones… En fin, que os agradecemos enormemente que nuestra estancia en la India haya sido tan perfecta. Un fuerte abrazo para Ashok y gracias por la cena en Jaipur, nos encantó conocerte. Y en especial, queremos mandarle un abrazo enorme a nuestro conductor, que se ha portado de maravilla con nosotros. Sin duda es un chico muy especial, muy atento, buena persona, simpático, discreto… y muy buen conductor!! Estamos seguros que nuestro viaje no habría sido lo mismo sin él. Por favor, decidle que en unos días le mandaremos las fotos que nos hicimos con él, para que las pueda tener.

Hola Ashok, Os escribo para agradeceros el empeño que habeis puesto para hacer de nuestro viaje probablemente una de las mejores experiencias de nuestras vidas. Nos sentimos llenos, felices. Yo estoy aquí, en Barcelona, pero no me puedo quitar de la cabeza India, mi corazón está allí, y estoy deseando volver. A Ernesto le pasa bastante lo mismo. Respecto a nuestro conductor, aunque ya lo sabeis, me gustaría deciros que ha sido para nosotros mucho más que el conductor por el Rajasthan. Es cierto que el idioma ha sido definitivo, pero el ambiente en el coche ha sido una fiesta sin ruidos, siempre comentando cosas, hablando, riendo, cantando, y él, centrado en el viaje y en cuidarnos, pero ha sido el 7º del grupo. De hecho, cuando nos dejó en Tundla, en la estación de tren, por unos momentos hasta sentimos miedo, ya no estaba para preguntarle. Por favor, a pesar de que queremos llamarle pronto, dile en cuanto puedas que el resto del viaje le echamos mucho de menos y que aquí le pensamos a menudo, que le agradecemos no solo que nos llevara a los sitios sino su compañía como persona.
Finalmente, aunque son tantas las cosas bonitas que quisiera decirte, intentaré concentrarme en dos: una, que el vuelo de Varanasi-Delhi previsto para 16.15 acabó saliendo casi a las 19h!! Fue un poco de tensión porque temíamos lo peor, perder el que teníamos que coger de regreso a Barcelona por la noche. Al final fue todo bien y, aunque ya no pudimos aprovechar la tarde en Delhi porque fue prácticamente salir de un avión y facturar para el siguiente, pero al menos no tuvimos ninguna dificultad. Gracias a Ashok, que tuvo el interés de verificar nuestro vuelo e informarnos de que había retraso en Varanasi, así al menos ya nos fuimos mentalizando. Y dos,... que quisiera volver a veros. Yo te lo digo, luego ya sé que dependerá de las ocasiones, etc, pero por fa, cuando estés/estéis por España si puedes llamarnos y nos dices qué tal estáis, bien; pero si pudiéramos vernos tanto mejor. Me encantó pasear juntas y hablar la tarde aquel domingo en Jaipur, sin que fueras nuestra guía en ningún sitio, sino una alguien como nosotros, buscando telas, colchas, etc en aquel bazar. Sin duda volvería a repetirlo, por eso aunque sé que teneis buena relación con otra gente que ha viajado con vosotros, pero no por eso voy a privarme de proponéroslo yo también.
Bueno,como dice la Biblia, el obrero merece recompensa por su trabajo, eso es lo que me ha motivado a escribirte; aunque en Barcelona nos estaban esperando familia y una montaña de trabajo, aunque no pudimos escribiros enseguida por el jet lag y un poco de malestar físico del último día, y aunque algunas otras cosas, no quería dejar vuestro esfuerzo sin el agradecimiento que merece, porque seguro que para que nosotros estuviéramos tranquilos, vosotros dedicasteis muchas horas y atención. Un abrazo muy fuerte, y ánimo con vuestro trabajo. Nosotros ya estamos en el proyecto India 2.

I had the BEST time with Ashok India Travels. The hotels were great, the driver was amazing and the sites speak for themselves. I also had the opportunity to meet staff members from the company and they were all very nice and welcoming. I would not have wanted to see India for the first time with any other group. Me and a friend spent a week in Rajasthan organized by Ashok India Travels and had the most wonderful time !! We had flown into Delhi and had a week before heading to Mumbai. Ashok India Travels handled everything in between, flights, car, pick up, hotels, safaris, entertainment.....everything. All I had to do was tell them the dates and they immediately sent back multiple Itineraries to choose from. I remember having needed to change my travel dates and they were able to accommodate the best they could (which was great considering Dec is the high season for them). I gave them my budget and they provided many options for hotels..... from very reasonable ones to more luxurious ones..... so we managed to squeeze in a few nights into " heritage" hotels which was a great experience in itself. All the accommodation was excellent..... very comfortable. We spent a night in the desert too!!!... We had an excellent car with a great driver (local) who had many stories to tell. We got a mix of the touristy stuff as well as a glimpse of local life and culture..... which was a great experience. In all, I found them to be very professional, accommodating and personal. My next trip to India would include Kerala and I will definitely call them again. I must add... for the short time that we were there...we covered a lot of ground... which needed good planning ! Great job guys....we had a great time and will always remember it !.... Thanks a ton |
